Trade Legal Matters
World Deal gives legal advice on all procedural and substantive issues arising under the WTO law. This legal advice can be divided into three categories.
The first comprises opinions on legal issues that enhance the capacity of companies to pursue their interests within the complex institutional framework of the WTO and to achieve its trade targets. For example, WORLD DEAL has advised companies on legal issues arising from technical barriers to trade and sanitary and phyto-sanitary measures.
The second category of legal opinions helps companies to realize their trade objectives in a manner that avoid them unnecessary proceedings and costly disputes. They are often sought by companies faced with tariffs and non-tariffs measures that impede their penetration to new exporting markets. For example, WORLD DEAL has provided legal opinions on some GCC and other Countries consistency of technical regulations, SPS measures, and import licensing requirements. In these cases, the WORLD DEAL’s opinions permit companies to keep access the importing market on the basis of a legal analysis prepared by experts of WORLD DEAL.
The third category of legal opinions concerns and anti-dumping, countervailing duty and safeguard measures that a company is seeking the advice in considering submitting a complaint against alleged dumped and subsidized imports or challenging the antidumping, countervailing and safeguard measures imposed on the company. For example, WORLD DEAL has provided several legal opinions on the WTO-consistency of and anti-dumping, countervailing duty and safeguard measures as well as assisting various companies in drafting a trade remedy complaint.
